What is the fastest way to cook Hugo's Birria?
The Pressure Cooker (High Pressure) is our recommended method for those in a hurry. You can achieve fall-apart tender meat in just 45–60 minutes.
How long does it take in a Slow Cooker or Stovetop?
- Slow Cooker: 6–8 hours on Low setting.
- Stovetop / Dutch Oven: 2–4 hours on a low simmer.
How much meat does one bottle cover?
One 12oz bottle of Hugo's Birria Marinade is perfectly portioned for 3–5 lbs of meat (Beef, Goat, or Lamb).

Is Hugo's Birria MSG-Free?
Yes. We use absolutely No MSG and No Artificial Colors in our marinade. The rich color comes purely from our blend of high-quality dried chilies.
Is the marinade spicy?
Our marinade is designed to be savory and bold with a mild-to-medium heat level that the whole family can enjoy.
Pro Serving Tips
The "Dip" Technique: For authentic street-style tacos, dip your corn tortillas directly into the top layer of the warm consomé (broth) before placing them on the griddle.
The "Rinse" Trick: After pouring the marinade, add a splash of water to the bottle, shake it up, and pour the rest into the pot to ensure you don't miss a drop of flavor!
